Recomendaciones: lugares en Londres.

   Hace dos semanas practicamos el futuro en frases condicionales en mi clase de conversación del nivel elemental-intermedio que tiene lugar todos los martes de 7.00 a 8.00 muy cerca de Liverpool Street Station.

   Practicamos como recomendar lugares relacionados con el español en Londres y aqui están los resultados:

   Si te gusta el mar y la historia, te recomiendo el Museo Marítimo de Londres.
Encontrarás pinturas sobre los marinos del Reino Unido y Espa+a.
Si te gusta ver y aprender cosas sobre la historia de estos dos imperios, encotrarás muchos videos  sobre exploración.
Si buscas cosas de navegación y te vuelve loco comprar regalos, hay una tienda que vende muchos recuerdos interesantes.
Y verás mapas del mundo antiguo también.
¡Ven al Museo Maritimo!
¡Será divertido!

Mert (Nivel elemental A2.2)

   Si te gusta comer burritos, encontrarás diferentes tipos de comida regional en La Taquería, un restaurante Mexicano en Notting Hill.
Si te gusta la comida y bebida mexicana, encontrarás una gran variedad en este restaurante.
Si buscas enchiladas y burritos muy buenos y baratos, te volverá loco este restaurante.

  Si te gusta bailar y comer, encontrarás mucho de esto en un restaurante y bar muy divertido que se llama Bar Salsa en el centro de Londres.
Si disfrutas de las tapas, encontrarás muchos platos diferentes así.
Si buscas cocteles, hay una carta especial.
Y si te vuelve loco hacer deporte, bailar es muy saludable y divertido.
Y conocerás mucha gente que le gusta lo mismo que a ti.

"The Salon of Spanish Rejects" exhibition by Lon-art.org.

   I had the great pleasure of collaborating in the exhibition and workshops of "The Salon of Spanish Rejects" that took place from the 7th to the 12th of May 20014 organised by Lon-art at the Oxford House in Bethnal Green. I really enjoyed the whole experience, in a very personal way, because from my point of view this exhibition was something historical.

   Yes, it was! it is now part of the history of Spain, the history of the Spanish emigration of thousands, if they are not millions, of young Spanish professionals during this period of recession, that having completed their degrees, having even studied a second degree and masters, like in my case, had to emigrate to other countries, like Germany or England, looking for some source of income, and work in many cases in unqualified jobs. This is also part the history of the artistic panorama in Spain. Spanish emerging artists that, affected by unemployment and the harshness of the economic crisis, moved to London to look for new opportunities, to continue and project their artistic production.

   I had the chance to talk to some of these artists during the Opening and our conversation always lead to the same topic: how they felt in London. They felt like rejects from Spain but, most importantly, they were all very happy for being able to do more artistic projects here than back home. 

   In their works deals with a big variety of current Spanish social issues. To the ones I have mentioned before, recession or emigration, we should add abortion and freedom of speech, which last changes on its regulations by the government have raised a lot of criticism and opposition.

 Together with the exhibition, Lon-art organised different educational workshops related to art production and Spanish social problems and protest. One of them was Habla de Arte, in which some of our students from Spanish Tutor in London and me had the opportunity to participate and do different types of communicative activities in Spanish: discussion, presentations, opinion writing for the fanzine about the exhibition and painting of protest banners. And I have to say that everyone had a great time, including me.

   I hope you are looking forwards to Lon-art's next social exhibition next year like me, and we could participate in it too.

La exhibición "Lanzarote: Heirs of the Volcano"

Tener la oportunidad de ver un poco de la tierra de uno cuando se vive en el extranjero emociona, especialmente si se muestra en trabajos de gran calidad artística como en la exposición Lanzarote: Los herederos del volcán/ Lanzarote: Heirs of the Volcano que tuvo lugar en 13 The Gallery del 29 de Mayo al 6 de Junio de los artistas de la Asociación Cultural Perro Flaco:Tati Benpé, Grise Malayerba, Francisco Carreño, Carol Curbelo, Iván Vilella.
   No es que siempre "barra para dentro de casa” (Bueno, un poco sí) pero hay que decir que esta exposición muestra con gran delicadeza y sensibilidad de la naturaleza Lanzaroteña. Esa aridez y desolación de la tierra. La aspereza de la piedra volcánica y la erosión de su paisaje volcánico.

   También fue interesante ver como el ojo humano amansa las formas de la naturaleza, juega con ellas y las interpreta asimilándolas a otras que conoce como por ejemplo en la fotos del cartel titulada "El Beso"...ahora sabeis por qué. ;-)

   El paso del tiempo también se ve reflejado en la obra de Grise Malayerba que se centra en la arquitectura tradicional abandonada al capricho de éste. Como podemos ver reflejado en esta foto, la arquitectura y el paso del tiempo se combina con el paisaje. Esta foto me gusta particularmente porque fue tomada cerca de donde viví desde mi infancia, y dando una interpretación un poco más libre y personal, para mí esta foto se trata sobre la permanencia y el inmovilismo. Mientras el mundo se mueve y cambia de una manera frenética aun tenemos lugares paradisíacos como éste, donde el tiempo pasa, sí, pero parece que lo hace más lentamente. ¡Qué relajante!
